This past week our family has been in New Braunfels, Texas for Neil's family reunion. The week was fraught with danger. On the way there our front tire split in half. I apologize for not documenting that in film. The next night Neil and I were driving into town and crossing the railroad tracks when we heard a disconcerting whistle. Oh yes, my friends, a train was headed right at us and the red and white striped crossing gate was not down! As I am writing this now it is obvious the train did not do us in. Then we shot bows and arrows (not really dangerous) and finally after floating down the river I found a 3 inch scorpion..... IN MY SWIMMING SUIT! By some miracle the evil looking thing did not sting me and upon discovery Neil smashed it into oblivion. There were also some less dangerous events. Neil, Grace, Neil's cousin Stephen and I went to sea world. It was really fun and the boys even got to pet the dolphins. We also found a delicious bakery in town and I had the best custardy cream puff thing ever. And at one of the family programs Neil and I participated in the Newly Wed Game. Sadly, we came in 2nd place to Neil's brother and wife but I don't feel too badly- they have been married for 8 years. Our cabin was right on a lake and there were deer everywhere! Our last night we went to a fabulous German restaurant Oma's Haus. It was sooooo sooooo yummy! I have got to learn to make German potato pancakes.
