Wowza

This past week and a half has been crazy. Neil was sick. I was sick, And finally Baby Grace got sick. And we moved. And we had two birthdays in the family. First was my dad's on the 18th. My sister posted a great blog about our dad on her site- Jill in NYC. You will notice she stole my story about the girl scout cookies from a few weeks ago :) When I was a very little girl my dad was working on his masters degree. We lived in Kentucky and Jill and I were the only children in the family. My dad worked multiple jobs and went to school full time. He would come home to sleep and if Jill or I stumbled across him we would scream, "Oh no a mummy!" I guess at the time Jill and I thought mummies looked alot like very tired men. Anyway, my dad worked so hard so that my mom could stay home to take care of us. It was the right decision for our family. My dad finished his degree and things slowed down and we got to have a lot more time with our dad. I'm so grateful for the sacrifices both my parents made and make for our family. Thanks to them I have very happy memories of my childhood.
Well, next up was Grace's birthday on the 20. Here is an updated picture of Grace, doesn't she look like a toddler! I think she is getting so slim from constantly climbing up and down our stairs. She thinks it is the biggest joke to quietly slip away from me, climb up to the top and start laughing down at me, while her little arms reach through the banister.
Can you believe a year ago she looked like this???
Grace is such a sweet girl these days... well, in all honesty she did bite me twice yesterday. But even doing dastardly deeds she is a cute little elf and I wonder if all mothers have the constant impulse to kiss their baby's cute chubby cheeks.
And today I cut my hair. I mean really cut my hair. When I got up to go I couldn't believe the amount of hair I was leaving behind on the floor. Sorry about my strange expression- I'm not very good at taking pictures of myself.
And here is the side view.
Dear Mom,
Don't be too sad I cut my hair, it was time.
XOXO

Cute hair! I love changing my hair because it's the one thing you can make dramatic change to that can also go back to how you had it. It looks adorable! Glad to hear that you are feeling better... can't wait to see pics of the new house!

The hair is cute--and good job taking the pictures! I loved the tribute to your father. It was very sweet. He is such a good man (I was going to also write that he is my favorite of the brothers, but I don't want to hurt anyone else's feelings:-)Happy Birthday to Grace!

I am not sad about your hair, I really like the new cut. It was time to try something new. I still have pictures of your big hair that I can fondly look at from time to time.
