Weekend Get-a-way

Neil took me to San Antonio this past weekend for a Mother's Day gift. We dropped Grace off at my in-laws and took off to party. On Thursday we drove to San Antonio, went swimming, ate delicious Mexican food and went to go see Angels and Demons (just a so so movie). The queso at the restaurant was so tasty I tried to drink it.
Neil thought it would be a bit less messy to use a spoon.
Then we got our entrees and started to dig in.

The next day we went to Guenther House. Guenther House is a museum/ store/ restaurant attached to pioneer flour mills. Here are Neil and I in the historic house part (yes, I know I already look pregnantishy)
We then had a great outdoor breakfast. If you ever go to Guenther House you have to get the pancakes- they are so good! Next we strolled through the historic part of the city.

Then we hit up the Alamo. It was crazy and filled with field trip kids!
We had some people take a picture of us but my hair looks crazy and we are totally "glowing" from our death walk across the city. The next day we headed to the outlets for some shopping, hit the pool again and went to see the movie Up. It was really good, much to my surprise. And we ate at Golden corral!! We tried to find the resturant Neil picked out but it was closed for another hour, and my pregnant self just could not take the wait. I have to say the mashed potatoes rocked my world. Towards the end of the trip I sort of stopped taking pictures. We had lunch on the river walk yesterday and then headed home. Neil did a great job planning our trip and the restaurants were all zagat rated (except the G. C. of course) so we didn't hit one stinker. It was a great trip but we were excited to get back to our baby.

Sounds like fun! Why didn't you drink the queso? :)
