chatty chatter box

Grace talks a lot. There is almost always a constant flow of words coming from her mouth. Here are some of her most quotable quotes at 2 1/2 years old.
During her nightly prayer she solemnly declared, "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that I not poopy."
While I was lost driving around Dallas, "We are never going to find this stupid place!"
When driving to Dallas from Houston John started crying and Grace promptly started singing, "Go to sleep little darling John-o, go to sleep." She often sings/tells John to "be happy little John-o"
And when John wakes up from his naps and begins to cry Grace bravely declares, "Grace to the rescue" and runs to "take care" of John.
Yesterday we went to a cute little pumpkin farm where there was a little play house made out of hay. Grace went inside it to play and a little boy, probably 4 years old, gave here a big bunch of artificial flowers and she was tickled pink. She kept telling me "that little boy gave me flowers. I like it."
The other day I was getting out a story to read to Grace while John crawled around and Grace started chasing John and telling him he had to come sit down, be quiet, and listen to story time. She may be a little bossy.
Grace is dressing up as a fairy for Halloween and insisted on wearing her fairy wings all day; to the store, around the house, and to the pumpkin farm. Several people told her she looked cute and she told me later, "The ladies like my wings"
John has also been giving me a run for my money. He just turned 10 months old! He is all over the place crawling and cruising and he is able to climb up one stair but then he gets stuck and screams for "MAMA." He only ever says mama when he is in distress and then he wails it. He has started chattering a lot more and he loves to yell out a lovely scream of delight that sounds like what I imagine a baby dinosaur would sound like. He has eight little teeth right now which are a little spread out, much to Neil's concern. And he has completely rejected baby food. If he can't feed it to himself there is no way he is eating it. He likes hot dogs, mac and cheese, all fruit, crackers and pieces of bread. Yesterday he and Grace road in one of the grocery carts that has a little car hooked on the front and he loved it! He honked the horn and was turning the wheel like a pro. John continues to be a very happy and contented little fellow, he earned himself the title of "The only baby I like" from my older sister. John is too busy to cuddle very much but he always likes to snuggle right after he gets up from his naps. He clings to my neck with his chubby little arms and I love it. His hair has all filled in and his signature mo hawk is gone but he still looks dashing and requires frequent hair cuts. Neil took him in the pool the other day and he totally reclined and kicked his legs up in his tube- he was the picture of relaxation. John is also already very social. He loves attention and other babies. If he sees a baby he will watch it and then make happy noises trying to get the baby's attention and if the baby looks up he just starts laughing with joy. John is also extremely ticklish on his tummy and if you kiss his neck. He loves to play in the bath but hates getting dressed. So that is where the kids are at right now. It is documented for posterity so I can relax :)
