Happenings

Things have been Crazy since Lily was born! We have been on vacation with my family. We re-staged our house. Translation: I trapped the children in front of a TV while I painted, organized and cleaned for a million hours. We moved to Dallas (finally!) and we are about to become landlords! (little scared about that). Neil had a birthday, his last one in the twenties. Lily has been growing like crazy and rolling around and eating rice cereal (she does not care for the cereal mostly she spits it at me disdainfully). I have lots of cute pictures but we forgot the camera cord in Houston so until we head back there or to best buy I am out of luck. I have been trying to limit Grace's TV time so today I told her we had to turn off the TV and she helpfully concurred because she "does not want to get mush in her brain." John is growing and saying more words but that child has an iron will. It is mostly displayed at church or the library where he tries to escape his parents and explore. After the move I was completely exhausted so Neil came home from work early on Friday to surprise me and sent me off to get a massage, spend an entire night with out kid related wake ups at a snazzy hotel and then to see Harry Potter the next morning. At first I was nervous to spend a night at a hotel alone but man it. was. awesome. I slept a good solid 12 hours in a heavenly bed with the air conditioning going strong, (I love sleeping in almost freezing rooms :) There were these fabulous white ginger bath products and the buffet in the morning was delicious. Every type of fruit, an omelet bar, fresh squeezed juices, doughnuts, coffee cakes, muffins, hash browns and more. And I LOVED Harry Potter! And I mean loved. All the other movies were let downs but this one was great. Except for the makeovers for the flash forward. Ron's belly and Ginny's hair do were ridiculous. Well that is about it for now.

John's First Convo, Runaway Kid, and Fat

In Ikea, John is crying

Me: Do you want your sippy?
Jonh: No
Me: How about your bottle?
John: No
Me: Gold Fish?
John:Yes (big smile and then mouth crammed full of gold fish)

John was so funny at Ikea. I let him out of the stroller in the children's toy area and after going down the slide he headed straight over to the toy kitchen. He got out a cup, pretended to turn on the sink and fill his cup with water, and then took a pretend drink. It was so funny to watch. He also enjoyed pretending to cook something in a frying pan on the stove and then he served it on the table. There was a scary moment where I lost him. I have never lost a child before and it completely freaked me out. I was watching a little blond boy head bobbing around the toys only to have the kid turn around and turn out to be NOT John!!! Luckily my friend had noticed the real John wandering off and grabbed him and I only knew he was missing for about two seconds. We almost didn't go to a play date at the mall playground today because I was worried about losing him again. But I decided I couldn't live in fear so we went and the kids loved it and let me shop for a few hours after without melting down. And I got the sassiest jeans at anthropologie!! on super sale!! I know it is bad form to write about prices but I have never been a designer jean girl. Mainly because I can't bring myself to spend $200 on jeans. Well anyway, they were having a super super sale and I walked away with some Joe's jeans for $60! This was really great because I don't have any jeans that fit. I have been doing weight watchers for the past four weeks and I've lost 41 pounds since I had the baby!!!! Two more pounds and I will weigh what I weighed before I got pregnant with Grace and then ten more pounds from there and I will weigh what I weighed at my wedding!!! Unfortunately my tummy does not look like it did before but I guess I have to expect that after three kids in three years.

After taking about 50 horrible pictures I got a few decent shots of Lily. Here is the little lady.

I had the best weekend! Neil and I went on a date to this cute mansion downtown turned into a museum. There wasn't anything famous, the highlight of the tour was a painting by El Greco's son, but I had a great time. The husband was a collector of just about anything you could collect, china birds, paintings, china, and anything that involved eagles. One of the little benches was apparently stolen from Buckingham Palace, it is stamped on the bottom "property of Buckingham Palace." There was a little reception room with fruit, cheese, and treats. The grounds were fun too, there was a french garden and an english garden. We were on the "twlight tour" so it was nice and cool for our exploring. They have concerts there and I would love to go to one! (hint hint Neil.)
Anyway my dad wanted some pictures of the kids so here we go.

Yes, I am alive

So with the arrival of baby number three it has been a bit crazy! Long story short I have been on the sick side of things (on the up side being sick made me loose 32 pounds in two and 1/2 weeks) but I still have 2 1/2 more weeks of physical restriction. No mopping, no sweeping, no vacuuming, no lifting anything heavier then the baby (John particularly hates that one) and I can only go up stairs once a day. But the end is in sight- waahooo! Here are some pictures I took before Lily was born.

In this beauty Neil and I told Grace she had to stay in her room for nap time. Notice how her feet are still in the room to avoid being disobedient.

This is pretty much the most flattering picture of my children ever so I thought it should be published. Note that grace stole the lettuce off my plate to eat instead of her fries and chicken nuggets.
