Lets Talk- Maternity Clothes Addition

I am a member of a minority group of women, women who actually like maternity clothes. GASP! However, I was not always this way. When I was pregnant with Grace I had a really hard time finding cute maternity clothes. It seemed as if everything was cut for much much taller women with serious sets of hips. I remember shopping in Chicago with my mother trying to find a pair of pants that looked decent. We hit every maternity store and I looked laughable, yes my mom actually laughed at me in the Pea in the Pod store. Finally we stopped at Ann Taylor Loft, who then carried maternity, and I found some perfect fits. I also discovered I could wear most of gap's maternity line as well. So really, as in all shopping, persistence pays off. Now a lot of women tell you not to invest in maternity clothes because you will only be wearing them for a few months. But frankly 6-9 months is a long time to feel unfortunate looking plus the six weeks it takes for your uterus to shrink back to normal. Another incentive I had to buy quality clothes was that I planned on being pregnant multiple times- that could equal years of unhappy frumpiness! And lets be honest- there is nothing worse then looking like you got hit with the ugly stick when you are pregnant. But you really don't have to pay a fortune for nice clothes either. Maternity clothes go on sale all the time and you can find out the day your favorite stores do their mark downs. For example the Gap by me does their markdowns on Wednesdays. If I want to save myself a trip out I check Gap Maternity's website to see if any of the clothes I have been eying have gone on sale. And don't forget, if you order on line do a quick coupon search for the store in question. You can almost always find a free shipping code. So get excited pregnant girls and get shopping :)

You officially put the bug in me! I was actually going to e-mail you today and see when you were going to be up for a shopping trip for some momma clothes. I am in desperate need for some jeans and pants, etc. I'm starting into my frumpy stage now. :(
