Little mister John Wilford Larson is six months old! John is a really sturdy individual who loves to roll around and bite anything he can get his hands on. Each bite however is proceeded by a little monster roar/gasp. A few weeks ago, in church, John grabbed the hair on either side of my head, roared and then lunged forward to bite my nose. Neil and I had to stifle our laughter! John is quite strong as well- his legs are a force to be reckoned with. I often have bruises on my thighs from his jumping on my lap. He weighs in at 18 pounds 9 ounces. This little baby dude also loves banana baby food and he prefers oatmeal cereal to rice. John's Mohawk continues to flourish and he has had to have numerous hair cuts to keep it in check. A nice dip in the water is right up John's alley as long as he has his sunscreen. John rarely cries, almost always smiles, and often is laughing. He is a jolly little fellow and extremely ticklish. Whenever I change his clothes he goes crazy. John enjoys music. When he was sick last week and had to wear the face mask he could be coaxed out of crying by listening to me singing scales and he likes to sit on his Daddy's lap while Dad plays the piano. John also loves his sister, Grace. They like to laugh together during John's tummy time and Grace will lunge at anyone she thinks is threatening "her baby." When John does cry Grace will come running to tell me that "John is sad" and often I will find she has given him one of her toys to try to cheer him up. John has gotten into the naughty habit of pulling Grace's hair but to Grace's credit she has never physically retaliated against John- she just tells me "John pulled my hair, Mom." She, luckily, seems to understand that he is just a baby and doesn't mean to hurt her. So despite the hair pulling they are the best of friends. All the grandmother aged ladies at Church love John. He likes to smile and laugh with them so of course they all love him! One lady always tells me that when he smiles he looks just like the Gerber baby and I have to agree :) We are so happy to have this lovable little man in our family- Happy six months John!
PS John- please forgive me for using this picture. I know your Mohawk is smashed and your eyes and nose are red from your lingering illness but look how happy your cute little face is! Love Mom
