2009 Survey Stolen from Superhero Girl

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before? Visited San Antonio and sampled the best guacamole on earth.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? hmmm my resolution making must not have been very effective because I have no idea what goals I set. oppps. This year I want to try at least one new complex recipe a week :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? I myself gave birth.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Both of my grandmas passed away this year.

5. What countries did you visit? Rats, none.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? A food processor.

7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? December 23, the day John was born

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting Grace off the bottle.

9. What was your biggest failure? Sewing a pair of baby shoes. They turned out totally frumplicious

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Not really besides the c-section

11. What was the best thing you bought? hmmm I am a shopper so this is a hard one...oh I've got it. I bought the juiciest ripest strawberries I have ever tasted. Oh and our house :)

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Neil for putting up with pregnancy crazy me. Grace for being an adorable big sister and John for starting to sleep 4 hour stretches

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? most celebs

14. Where did most of your money go? Buying a house

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Having a baby boy

16. What song will always remind you of 2009? Hmmm hard I don't really listen to the radio so pass

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? I will go with happier
b) thinner or fatter? Ugh totally fatter- not even 3 weeks since I gave birth
c) richer or poorer? A little richer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Weekend getaways

19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Being grouchy

20. How did you spend Christmas? In the hospital having John

21. Did you fall in love in 2009? Nope it happened three years ago

22. What was your favorite TV program? I like Chuck. I couldn't stop laughing last night during the season premier

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Nope I try not to be a hata'

24. What was the best book you read? My most recent fav would be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and I also enjoy a series by Brandon Sanderson about people who burn metals to do magic but I can't remember the names of the books

25. What was your greatest musical discovery? If you play Queen for Baby G she comes up with some super wild dance moves. It is like she and Shakira are one.

26. What did you want and get? A baby and Julia Child's cookbook

27. What did you want and not get? Flat abs

28. What was your favorite film of this year? I liked Star Trek.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 27 and partied with my family.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? More time with my extended family.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009? "Mastering the art of pregnant dressing."

32. What kept you sane? Shopping, crafting, and decorating the house during nap time.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Ok- weird truth I love Queen Latifa. Neil gave me Last Holiday for Christmas and she is sooo funny.

34. What political issue stirred you the most? Health care reform.

35. Who did you miss? My extended family. Especially at Christmas

36. Who was the best new person you met? hmmm I didn't meet my friend Jessica this year but I think we have become better friends this year. She is a fabulous domestic goddess.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009. Sit up straight when you are feeding the baby or your back may go out later- learned early this morning.

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. "And I think to myself- what a wonderful world" (yes I am cheesey)
